July-August 2007 - Mattel and Fisher Price took some dangerous toys off the market for the health and the safety of children.
These toys contain small, very powerful magnets which become detached and which children can suck or swallow or are covered with paint containing toxic levels of lead that children can ingest.
These toys include certain models of
Polly Pocket, Doggie Day Care, Barbie, Batman, Dora,
Diego, as well as S
esame Street Farm and the
Sarge truck.
To obtain a replacement of a toy containing magnets, call Mattel at 1-888-597-6597 or visit the company’s Web site at
www.service.mattel.com.
For toys containing lead-based paint, go directly to a retailer who sells the recalled toy. The retailer has to give you a refund you even if you no longer have the invoice and packaging.
For more information about these recalls, consult the Health Canada Web site.
You will also find complete lists and illustrations of recalled models on the
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Web site.
