A credit card issuing company sent me a card I hadn’t applied for. Do they have the right to do that?
No. A credit card issuing company does not have the right to send you a card if you did not request it in writing. Nor does it have the right to renew or replace a credit card if you notified it of your intention to cancel it. These protection measures are provided for under the Consumer Protection Act. They are designed to reduce problems of indebtedness related to the use of the credit cards.
