When I received my account statement, I noticed that the card-issuing company had raised my credit limit without notifying me. Are they allowed to do that?
Under the
Consumer Protection Act, the company that issues your credit card does not have the right to increase your credit limit if you have not so requested. Incidentally, Option consommateurs has filed a Class Action lawsuit in this regard.
