My insurance company debited my account twice instead of once last month. What can I do when errors occur with regard to preauthorized debit?
Start by informing the company that made the preauthorized debit that the transaction does not comply with the agreement you signed. And if you do not manage to obtain a refund, or if it is a fraudulent debit, you can ask your financial institution to cancel the operation and to pay the sums into your account. You must submit your request within 90 days following the date on which the debit was performed and sign a declaration explaining why it needs to be cancelled.
