Agreements with public utility companies

My electricity bill is overdue. What can I do?
This is the procedure you should follow:
  • Analyze your budget to determine your ability to pay.
  • Call Hydro-Quebec’s collection department (the number is indicated on your account statement).
  • Explain your situation to the agent, as well as the reasons why you have not made your last payments, and try to come to an arrangement.
  • Does the agent propose spreading your payments over a very short period, which would make your monthly payments too high? Explain your situation to him; perhaps he can arrange an extension for you.
If you do not manage to reach an agreement with Hydro-Quebec, contact us (514 598-7288) or contact the ACEF in your area (1 877 962-2227).
